I recenetly got a 14 or 15ft tin boat with a 20hp motor and a maximum load of 850 pounds. I was wondering if this would be fast enough to tow a water skier weighing 165 pounds. thanks for your help.
My kids learned to ski behind a 14' wood boat with a 25 HP. It was great for them, because the acceleration of a big motor tended to pull the handle out of their hands. When I tried to pick up an adult, however, it got like Plywoody said-- barely did it and only after a lot of straining.
