Water Pump

I have a 1990 25hp Johnson, and replaced water pump. I put on muffs turned on water started boat,and no water coming out of small hose. Blowed air though system,& seems clear. Seen couple videos, muffs might not be putting enough water in, & should use a deep tub where water could be at least where lower unit bolts on. thanks in advance for any advise

If your going to run in a barrel the water needs to be at least 6” above the pump. The pumps are not self priming.

Are you sure the draw tube was aligned correctly with pump housing when you re-installed the gearcase?

In any case, make sure the motor is not overheating. See if the top of the head is too hot to comfortably touch.
