I am pretty new at this but I'd like to learn to do things by myself... I have an evinrude 100 HP V4 around 1972. I wanted to check the water pump so put on the muffs, started the engine but did not see any water flowing out so I turned it off. It ran for about 45 seconds. I was wondering if there was a thermostat on those engines and if I should have let it run longer so it would heat up and open the thermostat so water would be circulating in the engine... Is it easy to replace the impeller on those engines?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
