I will add that my boat is a Sailfish 198DC. The hull is a bit "non-standard" in that the transom is 16" high, but the keel is actually 25" deep. About 3' before the transom, there is a "cut out", or tunnel, and the transom is not as "deep" as the keel. The motor on the boat came with the boat. It was the standard motor installed on that boat in 1999. It's a 20" shaft motor. So, if you drew a line from the bottom of the keel to the actual motor, the cavitation plate would be several inches above the bottom of the keel. In digging a bit, the boat shows that it is designed for a 20" motor, because the water flows over the hull and then rises at the back of the boat to where the motor is. I've always scratched my head a bit when looking at that, but that is the original design of the boat and the original motor that was factory installed on the boat and nothing has changed there.
