water not flowing from tell tale

Hi Guys I have a problem with my 1990 Yamaha 30hp. A little history first I got this motor from a guy that had it stored up for a few years. I have an identical motor already but short shaft version. I changed the carbs and impeller motor fires up and run great now but I am not getting any water from tell tale. I tried running a little wire through the hole I did get some trash out but still no flow. I am getting a spray out of the sprayer in the midsection but none out of the top any help you all can give me will be very helpful.

If a piece of heavy mono fishing line or weed wacker line shoved in and out while running motor on muffs or in the water does not clean it out, then try blowing compressed air into it to see if that will clear it out.

if that does not get it going ,Corrosion may have plugged passages and need to be opened up for a good cleaning

Thanks 99Yam40 It is flowing now. It was a combination of two problems. I pulled the lower unit and the impeller was not installed correctly (my fault). I fixed the impeller and tried running it again. I still had no flow then I blew compressed air up the tattle tail and then I got water flow. Thanks for your help
