This might be a stupid question but I have changed the water pump on my 90 HP 2003 outboard and after putting the lower unit back into place Ive notice water coming out of the front of the dogleg just above where the bolts connect the two together, there is a hole the but I cant say for sure if water used to come out of it or not before I replace the water pump.

Is this normal.... ??

How's the pee and how does the block feel on muffs at idle after 10 minutes?

My engine at idle on muffs will shoot a pee stream hard enough to make a hole in my "river rock" driveway. The block is comfortable to the touch, but definitely warm.

A lot of times after we do something, we are looking to ensure that we got it all right. We look places we haven't necessarily looked before and if so may have not paid attention. You have exhaust manifold water coming out all the time and it dumps into the midsection and finally out the prop. There are drain holes allowing the block and midsection to drain after running. On some engines you can get a mist at idle and on a 125 Johnson I had once at WOT water pours out the exhaust relief ports just under the powerhead.

How about a picture and I'll compare it to my '02 90.

If it is the hole near the bolt for the LU, it is for a water tube for the speedometer. A rubber tube goes thru the hole and is slid on a barb fitting in the LU. If the tube is not there then the water from the midsection will drain from the hole as it dose from the smaller hole on the side and near the hole in question. This drains all the water out of the motor and midsection when not in use. This is normal on most all motors. JMO
