Water leaking into storage space of Glastron boat

The storage space between the seats of our Glastron boat filled with ice over the winter. The ice melted. I bailed out all the water about around 2 or 3 weeks ago, and removed any remaining ice. Today, the space was half full of water again. I can see a small stream of water flow at the rear bottom of the space (see photo).

I suspect there was ice somewhere else inside the boat, out of sight, that melted or is still melting, providing water that leaks into this space. I don't know where to look, or how to remove the water wherever it is.

The last time this boat was in water was July 2020. The boat was outdoors, covered with a tarp or cover since last use. It was uncovered only on nice days, sunny, no rain, above freezing. We had rain and snow the last week, but the boat was covered then.

Not sure of model number, but one photo shows the whole boat so the Glastron experts can recognize it. I am far from expert on boats!

I would say just let it sit in the sun with the hatches open to dry out. Pull the bilge plug too and crank up the trailer jack so that any water in the bottom of the boat can run out.

As for how it got in there, that is a mystery for you to solve. To me there are only two likely scenarios:

1. The water got in there during the boat's last use in July 2020. I would think that it would have dried out over the summer though.

2. The boat wasn't covered as well as you think. Low quality tarps can leak. If you didn't have a saw horse or pole in the center, the snow would have pooled in the center of the tarp and eventually leaked. I would suspect that your cover/tarp is either faulty and/or it wasn't covered correctly.

For a few seasons, I parked my boat in my backyard here in Minnesota. I put the built a couple of saw horses out of 2x4s that ran from bow to stern. Then I put the factory cover over the saw horses. Then I put a very heavy-duty tarp over the cover. Even then, I noticed that heavy snows would cause the cover & tarp to sag. I routinely went out there with a spare snow brush and wiped all of the snow off. Now I just pay a neighbor $200 to store my boat in her garage every winter.

The tarp does have one small rip in it, two or three inches. I hope we can build some sort of structure, like a carport or garage, for the boat, later this year.
