Water leak under electical plate

I have noticed a drip coming from under my electrical plate on the starboard side of the motor when it is running. It drips right out the bottom of the cowling so I am not really worried about it building up. My water stream is strong and the motor is not overheating. Anyone have an ideas? Is the waterpump under there and is this an indication that it might need to be replaced? The motor is a 1987 I6 115 HP. Call me paranoid, but I have had lousy luck with this boat/motor.

No water pump up there.

I'm not sure if this model has a poppet valve, but under the ignition plate on the strb. side of the motor is where it is located and if the diaphragm is ruptured then you will have a leak.

Hopefully the inline experts can chine in here.
