Water leak alpha 1 ,5.7 L mercruser

Been trying to find a water leak for the past 2 seasons and found what I think is the problem. I filled the boat with water put it on a hill and saw water leaking out of only one of the exhaust relief ports. Nothing out the prop and nothing out the other port. Exhaust bellows? Why only one side?

If you put water inside the boat and it leaks from the exaust reliefs the Y pipe has a corroded hole thru it

Or the 'o' ring has failed... Either way, it's 'engine out'.... Sorry.

What year is this engine? Reason I ask can be found in THIS thread....

to get the water in the boat high enough, you simply added thousands of pounds of water to your boat, not to mention you submerged the starter

looking with a flashlight and a smart phone camera would have also found the leak

once the motor is out plan on taking the starter to a rebuild shop

hope you dont have water in the structure of the boat now.
