Water in the tank

This is a pic of water and contamination in my gas tank. 21 gallon tank. From last 3 gallons in the tank. I dumped 2 water sepearator filters full of this out . Before I pulled the tank

I would drain all the fuel, then clean out the tank

Empty the tank out and toss in some alcohol to absorb the residual water, if any. That can also be dumped out.

If you are not sure where the water came from, check the fill and vent for leakage from the outside into the tank. Water used to splash into my speedboat fuel tank, when I hit a wave. I changed the vent to a different style to fix the issue.

The oring that seals the fill fitting can also leak.
