water impeller question

couple questions, this is my first time servicing my alpha one gen II outdrive, Im ready to put the new impeller in, But was looking for tips. First tip can I use standard automotive high temp rtv? do i use it on the wear plate under and on top of the gasket? what direction is the impeller curve supposed to spin. cant remember how It came out. is the impeller dam and wear plate the only place the quick silver sealant (or if I can use rtv) goes? any other info on reinstall would be greatly apreceated the service manual isnt very discriptive lol.

Howdy,


I think I used a good silicone seal when I did the last GEN II raw water kit.

Here's a good set of instructions on doing it..... They suggest using "Perfect Seal" though......

Thanks!!! That is a good write up on water impeller service. Now I just need to get ink for my printer to print and put in my boat resources binder.
