water impeler change Johnson 50hp

I am going to change impellers on 73 50hp it is electric shift my bigest question is shift linckage i know it not the same as my 78 75hp what shoud i look for.

There is no shift linkage if it's an electric shift. After you dis-connect the shift wires, attach a wire to them so it will be easier to fish the wires back up on re-installation.

thanks knew there would be wire did not know where to unhook them must be at top. thanks
