water hose, whats the trick

so puttin my 1 drive bellhouseing back on today. new rubber. that water hose. man what a fXXXXn bummer.......is there some trick to gettin that sun of a gun on. i just plain wore myself out pushin and tryin. i did not get it on as far as i would have liked. if i'm lucky the clamp is on the inboard side of water tube ridge.....if i'm lucky..... it's done now though. gonna find out if it's good enough by dunkin it. the hose first of corse. but it's together so i'd have to undo to get back to it... still would like to know the trick to get it back on though......mercstuffs statement to remove the water tube? that aint in the insturctions for a 1 drive in service manual #2......

Find your nearest Merc dealer and get a can of "Power Tuner"
Spray it in the hose and on the hose barb, then stuggle for a bit with some sucess this time. Without it, that hose is almost impossible to get on all the way. And if not all the way on, will kink and cause an overheat .

i ain't looked for the kink yet. but rest assured i'll be lookin. i believe it....wish i'd have asked the question first it appears.......rats........if i ain't got the kinks, might i be ok????????? assumin it don't leak on the hose, right at the clamp.....

The kink might not show up right now, and as tight as that hose fits, it wouldn't leak without a clamp.
Might it be OK??????

yer sarcasim is appriciated. i understand. disassembly back to the hose for some proper lub...................i used soap and water..........maybe the wizard will treat me right. usually don't happen though....

A lot has to do with the hose you use, the EXACT length it's cut, being installed to conform to the natural curl of the hose, etc.
Either do it right the first time, or....................... well, you know

Good Luck with that, yrs ago, I noticed my hose was kinking some, I ended up sliding on, and putting a 1" copper 45 degree sweat elbow over the hose at that point, to keep the right angle, with no kinking,,, it worked for me.
