Im still learning here.. Can anyone tell me what the holes in the pictures below are? I have looked through the manual but didnt see it or over looked it. Im thinking number 1 is the ehaust, and after a few min. warm water starts comming out of it. Im also guessing number 6 is where it pulls water in. Thanks for any replys.

Also in picture 3, do i fill it with oil all the way up to where it says oil level or do i just fill it from the bottom screw hole like the manual says?

http://members.aol.com/shane733/boatholes1.jpg
http://members.aol.com/shane733/boatholes2.jpg
http://members.aol.com/shane733/boatholes3.jpg
http://members.aol.com/shane733/boatholes4.jpg

Re: Water holes?

9 engine exaust
8 plug (should not be open)
7 weep holes?
6 main water inlet
5 weep hole
4 weep hole
3 ?
2 pee hole
1 water outlet
Maybe some one else can give a beter explnation of them! The prop is in need of balance, the one place looks like it has been hit hard. I would also strip the paint off the prop, and leave it up painted. And I thought I was the only one who still used cable and pully steering.

Re: Water holes?

Thanks so much guys. This is my first boat and Im trying to learn all i can. I guess i wont be slapping regular water muffs on this water inlet. Reason i wanted to know what the holes was for is because i been using a trashcan full of water to start it. I wanted to make sure i had all the right holes under water. I also was curious why after 5 min of running water started coming out hole 1 and if that was normal. Thanks again for all the help i have got here.

Re: Water holes?

Water gets dumped out of hole #1 when it reaches tempurature, and fresh cool water is drawn in. Otherwise if the water is still cool it's directed by the thermostat back into the water pump to be recirculated. Also the exhaust is relieved at idle through it via two smaller holes up inside it.
So, having water dump out of it after five minutes is perfectly normal - that's how long the engine took to warm up.
