Water drip 3.7 Merc I/O fresh water cooling

Slight water drip from water pump weep hole.<br />Dealer says it cam seals not water pump.<br />How can I tell,if this is true ?

When was the last time the water pump was changed????It may be worth changing and you can find out by process of elim.Charlie

I haven't changed the pump,thats why I'm confused.Why cam seals and not the pump

Its the seals its a text book problem.

Do nothing untill you fully understand<br />problem - go to - sterndrives.com<br />/supplies/howto.html - look at 3.7L<br />water pump problem.<br /><br />This pump inpeller is metal, lasts forever.<br />Check oil level, and valve cover fill cap<br />for milkey oil ? <br /><br /> ? Your mechanic is correct. This engine has a cam drivin waterpump. The two seal go bad. Check this link out........ Coolant leak
