I do. I put her on the beach so all the morons are distracted and I can safely launch my boat. Where I live the ramps can get a bit crazy.

The trick is not to rush the process.

This is worthless without pictures.

Some guy lost his truck last summer at our ramp. Drove STRAIGHT IN, brand new F250 Diesel truck, and trailer. Not sure how that happened, but he went in nose first, and sunk it all. Apparently tried to lock the brakes up on the way in, and just skidded on down the ramp.

We had to spend 2 hours out in the water getting sunburned while the fire department pulled his stuff out of the water, and did their police reports.

The engine does not spin backwards when a truck is in reverse gear, rear-end down hill! I use first, on the off chance the truck won't jump start itself being in the correct gear for backwards, downhill.

If it is in first gear ,rear end towards the water , yes it will spin the engine backwards if it moves. Look under the hood and watch the crank pulley if you don't believe me.

When you don't have enough weight in the back of a pickup, the rear brakes are worthless. Add a too heavy boat and trailer, down hill, a little algae on the ramp, stupidity, inexperience, and impatience, and he probably almost planed off when he hit the lake.

I've launched thousands of times with little to no problems, I just can't for the life of me see how this stuff happens. Geeeeez.
