I purchased a 2009 Scout 204 CC Sportfish back in Jan of 2020. I have searched and searched and cannot, for the life of me, figure out how the fresh or raw water washdown works. I haven't found any info online either.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Start at the bottom , you should have a through hull fitting with a hose on the end of it that goes to the raw water pump. Make sure the valve on the fitting is open. You should have a switch , usually on the dash that turns that pump on. Once that pump is on and builds pressure it works on demand when the water nozzle is turned on . There should be a Y valve , one end is hooked up to the fresh water tank , one to raw water and one to the wash down hose , turn those valves on or off depending on what source of water you want.

Thanks for the reply Mr88. I take it the boat needs to be in the water for the raw wash down? When I tried it while it was in the water, I opened the valve, and turned the pump on, nothing happened. I could here the pump running, but no water through the hose. Also for the fresh water wash down, do I fill the live well and turn the Y valve to freshwater?

Boat has to be in water , intake should be on the bottom of boat. You should have a separate fresh water holding tank for your wash down, usually located below deck . The pump will run until pressure is built , then it will stop. If you have the fresh water valve open and there is no water in the holding tank the pump will keep . running. Take your time and follow the hoses to see where they go and which valve should be shut off. I would make sure your only using one source for the water. Having both open may allow air into the system and the pump usually keeps running when that happens. You should have a fresh water fill fitting on your boat ,normally located on the gunwale mid ship. Your livewell has nothing to do with your wash down system.

Is it a single pump that you switch between fresh and raw water? What type of pump is it? Rule? Do you have easy access to the pump? When you're in the water and turned the raw water pump on drive the boat forward at a few mph. Some pumps get an air bubble that needs to be purged before it starts to pump water. I've had bait pumps, mainly rule, that the shaft corrodes and brakes. The motor runs and sounds like it should be pumping but the impeller is just sitting there doing nothing.

Thanks so much mr 88! I'll see if I can run down the hoses and find out where they go. Not a whole lot of room under the floor, so I figured the live well would be considered the holding tank. Just fill it with fresh water and turn the Y valve and the Bilge pump and switch it on?

Thanks Mike. It is a rule 800. It has a lever on it and 2 hoses, so I figured it switches from washdown to aerator and of i want freshwater, I'd have to fill the aerator and switch to freshwater.?20210430_100505.jpg20210430_100611.jpg20210430_100427.jpg

Grab the red part and turn counter clockwise to pull the pump out from the housing. Turn the pump on and make sure the impeller spins. If it spins disconnect the one hose at a time and shoot some water into the hose and see where the water comes out. If you unscrew the pump from the thru hull and shoot water thru it and make sure water is pouring out of the intake under the boat.

Thanks Mike, I'll see if that works.
I hear it running, well it sounds like its running, but then again, it may be seased up and sound like it's running. May just go ahead and replace the motor head when I pull it off.
Thanks again for your help! I salute you and thank you for your service!!!!
