The other day while checking out another older model Merc I noticed the port for the fresh water wash down had a plug installed. Since my motor didn't have any plug installed I asked a Merc tech and he told me it wasn't necessary because of a brass check valve. Can anyone else confirm this for me? No overheat alarms and good stream from pee hole, just nervous since this is my new baby.
