Wash Down Pump

My raw water pump took a crap and I want to replace it. It's rated at 3.5 gpm @ 45 psi. It worked OK, it was free years ago so I can't complain. I'm looking at replacement pumps and have a question. Some pumps I'm looking at are rated for less gpm but higher PSI. What's more efficient in washing blood off a deck, more psi or gpm?

I have 4.0 @ 60 psi and it does a great job.

Should mention, the coiled hose supplied with these units sucks. Too small.

Replaced mine with a 5/8" sanitary hose. World of difference

good point about the hose, that's exactly what I have. I'm going to try a regular hose and see the differance.

Agreed, For any pump, a lot has to do with headlosses after the pump. Elevation head and velocity head losses (line losses, including fittings) are likely your most significant considerations here.
