Ha guys, I had my stratos out yesterday, 04 225 Evinrude HO. This was about the 6th time out this spring, after a half day of fishing I put the boat on plane and at about 5800 rpm the check engine light and siren went off, and the engine shut down to idle. when I turned it off and re-started the motor the siren sounded again and the engine would not go, almost like flooding out, rough sounding. Not sure if the computer was keeping it from going. Any ideas on where to start? seems to be good water coming out of engine, but i did plug intake with weed the week before, enough to set off temp alarm. Put new plugs in today with no help. Started today and ran very rough.

Thanks, Carl

Re: warning siren

sounds like it is running hot, especially if the powerpacks are shutting down to the safe mod.

Re: warning siren

Thanks, is their a way I can check the water pump, or preasure? and would that be my next step? If the power packs did shut it down, would they re-set after the engine cooled, because I did start the engine the next day and it started hard and ran very rough.

Thanks, Carl

Re: warning siren

about the temp, when the water intake was plugged the temp alarm went off, this time the check engine alarm went off. Could this still be because it got to hot?

Thanks, Carl
