Nope.

It's been over-controlled and dumbed down over the last two decades.

It's just a reality TV show.

Maybe they should race Naked and Afraid?

Dang!

Been a long time fan of NASCAR...
Seems like even the France family sees it falling on it's face these days, and wants to cash in while it can...

It's just not the same.. Still watch it every Sunday.. (Well my DVR of it anyway...)
Can't usually sit down to watch it until about 8pm on Sundays...

Hate that I can't read the Nascar posts you make on Sundays GA!
It would give it away to me.. LOL

Oh well...

You can read them this Sunday, JB. The race is Saturday night! Unless you don't watch the DVR until Sunday. :D

Hmmmm, since we have such good ideas on making NASCAR better and returning it to it's glory, maybe we need a conference call between the iboats fantasy league members and any others that want in on the action, form a corporation, and tender and offer. We could get iboats to sponsor the series and it would be the NASCAR iboats Cup. If we each pitched in a couple dollars we could make an offer close to what it is worth ...

Checked the ashtrays in both cars and got $2.19 to contribute. Just got a new couch and who knows how much went with the old one. :blue:

iCup has a nice ring to it. :D

Sure I''ll buy NASCAR, I'm also looking at some waterfront property in Florida, but it's 200 miles inland.

Just as a casual fan I have no idea why they thought running races late Saturday rather then Sunday afternoon was a good idea. The checkered flags have been waved a day before I'm looking for the race on Sunday. I don't watch Hockey, Baseball, Basketball, maybe some Golf. So I am left without a good Sunday sports fix unless I get up really early and watch F-1. Good news, they have re opened the old Cayuga Speedway about 20 minutes from our place. Only a .65 mile track but being there rather than sitting in front of the Boob Tube is a world of difference. There isn't a bad seat in the joint. 1st Race is June 16th, we will be there God willing.

With our 1 and 2 dollar coins here my ashtray can easily hold 30 bucks, but it is Canadian funds, so about $2.19.00 USD.

Hmm...
I could collect empty cans in U.S, in a contractor bag...
That should be about 10-20 bucks... :pound:

iCup here we come!

I feel the serge! Wait - That's old suit material.

Maybe it was gas? Sunoco of course, the official racing fuel of Nascar - Soon to be open for a bidding war!

I think I can scrape together $5-10 worth of change, so we are up to about $19.38-$40 ... we are just about at a competive offer! :first::D:car::car::car::facepalm:

Crowd Fund, I fund, to me it's no different then panhandling on a corner but with millions of people walking by. I know there are good causes and it has helped but I am constantly reading about scams happening, even locally. A young woman we actually know faked Cancer, faked Cancer!! Right down to shaving her head and eyebrows. We even had a Golf Tourney here for her and gave her $3500.00 in cash in hand. What was the question again?

As long as that idotic chase is around you can count me out .

I have it on good authority that when Humpty_Boater becomes iCup prez that the Chase/Playoff system and heat racing will disappear, along with charters.

And "Stock" will be meaningful again. If a manufacturer doesn't make a V8, rear drive version of the model campaigned, it will be banned. H_B has been working with Chevy and Ford, hence Camaros and Mustangs are both in Cup next year. Bye-bye Camry and hello Land Cruiser!

And "stock" means that you have to be able to purchase the parts in the race car from ANY franchise dealer with an OEM part number and it will fit in your vehicle that you purchased new at that same dealership. So either the manufacturers are in the racing game or they are out of it.

Does anyone have the OEM part # for a 55/64ths restrictor plate? Asking for a friend.

Excluding safety equipment, speck. Not many cars come factory equipped with roll bars except Jeep Wranglers. Mmmm?

Yes, excluding the safety equipment ... roll bars, seats, pull away steering wheel ... the safety stuff. Engine, tranny ... stock. Let them run fuel injection. Let them run FWD if wanted ... STOCK is the operative word, and composite body panels must match stock design (aero packages can be an option on cars and hence be allowed).
