Re: Wally World Tires??

My last time having tires changed by Wally Mart was when they put whitewalls on one side and blackwalls on the other. Other then that no real tire problems.
....However dont ever let these idiots change your oil. Once they didnt remove the old gasket on the oil filter - blew out 3.5 of 4 quarts when I started it. Then they replaced my new oil plug and didnt tell me (on my truck). The plug was too small but managed to stay in place and start working loose that week - caught it before it feel out.

Douglas tires are actually made by Goodyear. Go with the cheap ones.

all of my landscape trailers have the douglass tires on them, at $30 a piece + the warranty was a good deal, already gotten 5-6 free new tires from trips to the scrapyard

Re: Wally World Tires??

A couple of weeks ago my cousin's family and mine were heading out to Princess cove on lake Mahave in AZ. The road down to the launch is dirt/gravel. The road took both of us out, one tire each.

I have a 2004 Chevy truck and the cousin has a 1998 Explorer. Well, we both head to WW in Bullhead City to have the tires fixed. Mine was repairable and caused no issues other than the time it took to patch one tire. My cousin on the other hand...

His tire is not repairable due to tread depth. This is understandable and he is cool with this. He tells the WW employee, put one new tire (the cheepest one) on his full size spare and move the current spare to the "nice" rim. He had just replaced the two fronts with nice tires and got a great deal back home and he wanted to go back to the same shop for the remaining two for the rears.

Somehow all of this information gets screwed up in the shop. The techs put two $100 tires on the rear and leave the spare alone. Well, when my cousin goes to pay he is shocked by the price! One tire for $200.00????

Anyhow, WW desides to make things right. They charge him for the one tire he was going to purchase at the price for the cheep tire and give hime the other tire for free! He ended walking out of there with 2 new tires, mount/balance/road hazard for $67.00.

Now I am not a WW fan. We have a few in Orange County and I NEVER shop there. However when in Bullhead City I go to the super WW all of the time. They are 24 hours and a lot cheeper than the K-mart down the way. At home, I usually go to Target instead since it is usually less crowded and considerably cleaner.

Just my $.02

Kevin

WOW! When some manager from WW reads that, some will be doing some checking.

Depends on what your looking for. I have run wal mart tires on my wifes van for almost 110,000 miles now. They are bald and really worn by now, but what do you expect.
My drag car will never have wal mart tires, same with my patrol car and my Mustang. But a daily driver they are just fine and well worth the money savings.
