Hey guys,

I need some help. I'm 16 years old and imman active wakeboarder. I've been riding for 4 years behind a 16 ft dauntless Whaler with a 90 HP Yamaha. It's not an ideal boat to board behind, the ropes too low and the wake isn't great. Im thinking about building an extended pylon to help with the rope, but that doesn't help with the wake. The only thing I can think of is trimming the engine up and putting ballast in the boat. Right now I pu 6, 5 gallon water jugs in the back but that doesn't help much. Any suggestions ??

I'd suggest the following before putting in a pylon. Depending on the weight / person capacity, add 5 to 7 of your largest friends and see how the boat performs. With the water you'll be adding about 250 pounds. With people you might get around 1000 - 1200 lbs and that would give you a good idea of what the wake could be like for the boat and how the boat would perform with that much ballast.
