What a hero W going to serve. He hid and was a coward when needed and remains a coward today. Maybe he will be flown in by fighter jet so he can claim he flew combat over vn.

This crud makes me sick and is a slap in the face to all who served this country in VN.

Most of us Nam Vets don't think along the same lines as Tx. I would hope that you would not judge the rest of us for what he is saying.

Many went to Canada,got married or went 4F for their own reasons. I hold no grudge, only to those who slang those who gave their lives for the freedom that we now have. Does not matter what war. Today is like the yesterday as it was in 1969.
The majority of vets have made peace within themselves and have went forward with our lives.

To single out one person is not right no matter what side of the fence they are sitting.

Hey Gonfishin I got nothin but repect fo you and all the other VN vets. For that matter I got repect for Tx's service to our country.......you are heros in my eyes and I raise my kids to see it that way but my comments were dirrected at TX because of his "hatred" of the Prez. and his inabilty to stop trolling and Useing his service to our country in that war to make it seem like he has more of a right to complain about this one then the rest of us ( whom did not serve) have the right to support it. By the way TX I believe you went through and seen things I would only desribe as HE11 but for the life of me I dont understand your hatred of Bush sometimes.......If it over his record fine but where was the outrage when kerry stood up against you guys during Vietnam and recently when he dissed all the troops who serve? The left cut military spending and gave us a weeker then ever before military and would do it again and on top ofthat would cut and run like we did in Nam and give us the same results.......

Mike, Why all the cut and run crud. VN was being lost before any cuts. It was lost because we had NO business there and no plan on how to win or even what winning meant. Same as in Iraq but it is being played by those who hid to avoid serving and now want to play war with others lives.

Yep, when W takes on jacket as fighter pilot when he "cut and ran" earlier, I take offense. those who did not serve I do not hold a grudge for except those who want to pretend now to be brave warriors ie W, cheney etc.

Kerry's record stands for itself. As for his recent stupidity, I recognized what he was saying. Must have drug flashback. You see during VN if you were wealthy you got deferments and special national guard appointments. Yes some not wealthy got them also. I had a student deferment and dodged the draft until the lottery. then only wealthy got special appointments.

This is what Kerry thought he was saying. guess he did not know there is no draft today. Yes it was stupid. But him being stupid killed no American troops, W can not say that.

I am not a Kerry supporter and would only vote for him if the other choice is no better than W.

W could have gone to SE Asia earlier, paid for by gov. but refused, tell me why he needs to go now.

TX are you saying we "cant" win a war against Iraq? or because we "dont belong there" we cant win the war.......How about this, if we fought it like a war insted of a political issue we would be rebuilding insted of being baby sitters.......War sux but if you step on our toes you are asking for it, so maybe we should taken off the gloves killed all who stood against us and any who got in the way and well, we are in a better place ..........Your party of chioce is no better then mine they both suck and you know it but at the very least mine is willing to put up a fight...........how about we put more troops there and get the job done insted of trying to be police, heck the police we have here have a hard enough time controling the animals we have. Lets fight it like a war should be fought and forget about past defeats. I dont give a rip about how Vietnam turned out compared to the gulf war. Do you know why, our boys are still dieing in Iraq. I say dont cut a run. I say send more troops and take the freakin country over when someone steps out of line.....WHAM take em out and eventully it will be little america.( OK I there is a bit of sarcasm in my last statement....... sort of .........At least thats a plan though.

Mike, Our difference may be that you feel we can change the culture of the people. I do not. The entire philosophy of life is based on religion there with freedom and human rights way down the road.

I could go on with should not have gone, lies etc, lack of troops, purpose and so on. Basically, I do not see a realistic goal to be accomplished. Iraq will never be like America or anything like us as their core beliefs are too different.

Glad to agree to differ with one with reason behind their ideas and understand your thoughts. I probably would be more in agreement if we had entered with proper intent and plans. Now I am not sure anyone knows what victory would mean.

Why? We just took them off our "black list" and may be moveing towards normal relations with them...

The United States has removed Vietnam from a list of countries which it says severely violate religious freedom.
The list is published annually by the state department and includes Iran, China, Sudan and North Korea.

Vietnam was removed from the list just days before President George W Bush travels to Vietnam for a meeting of the Asia Pacific Economic Co-operation.
