VRO SYSTEM ELIMINATION-please help

hi all,i have a 1988 johnson 175hp v6,i want to eliminate the vro system and just install a fuel pump and mix my own ,and my vro pump quit on me also,so i cant use that and block off the oil line and remove the wires,so does anyone know of what kind of fuel pump i can use thats not the vro looking style,but just a regular pump,and also can i just go to a auto or marine parts store and buy a regular pump.PLEASE I REALLY NEED HELP HERE GUYS....thanks...and im sorry i know this subject has been beaten to death but im a newbie so please help

hey ken thanks for the advise,also the vro pump has 4 nipples, when i put the new pumps in are they electric or how are they powered,which lines do i plug also do i put the new pumps in line with each other and how many nipples does the regular pump have versus the vro,basically i need a lot of advise on how to connect the fuel lines to the new pumps?....thanks again
