Question, why (under normal operation conditions)do you determine that the fuel bulb should be firm ? The bulb is on the suction side of the pump (wich should keep it under negative pressure). Over the last 35 years & a dozen or more new outboards , merc, force & evenrudes, I have never seen a firm fuel bulb unless I pump it manually. While rinning they are usually soft. By the way, my newest is a 2002,175 johnson ( had a new power head installed this year) & the best, most trouble free was the 120 HP force. The worst is my 1999 merc (yamaha)15 Hp, 4 stroke---- go figure--.

when i pump it it womt even get firm guessing i must have a pin hole somewhere
