I am the second owner of a low hour, 96 Johnson 90hp. Due to lack of trust, I would like to temporarily bypass the oil injection system, as the next owner may prefer this system. Will plugging the oil intake hose at the pump, and disconnecting the two sensor wires at the engine, cause permanent damage to the pump or any component of the system? Thanks for any information

Re: VRO fuel/oil pump

It will not harm the VRO system at all,and all that needs to be done is to plug her back in,and take the oil out off the fuel tanks (run the premix out).<br />I allways had a hard time trusting VRO and other maunufactures' answers to oil injection. So much can fail, so why not elininate one very good possablity of a blown powerhead? JMHO
