VP AQ130D w/ 280 leg - Motor Lifts up in reverse

Hello Everyone,

As I said in the title its a Volvo Penta AQ130D w/ 280 leg I had a buddy park us and I watched the leg and told my friend to slowley go into reverse and boom this thing launched up at me. I almost crapped my pants right there. When I took it out of the water in forward its locked , netural released, and in reverse it seemed locked now with the propeller spinning I wasnt going to try and yank on it but it sure tries to jump out of the water in reverse..

Things to look at ??? Large hammer ?

The lockdown mechanism is either not working from being out of adjustment, or it's worn out and won't hold on the cross pin.
