Were the relay terminals corroded? Any at all? Could be an intermittent relay.

Those same relays are used for starting, and trim. Might not be a bad idea to have a couple on the boat for spares, along with some dielectric grease to keep the terminals from corroding.

I will have to do the last part of your troubleshooting to determine if it is the relay or the wiring before coming to a conclusion. I had tried other relays before but didn't want to work. I will try again in the morning to confirm the issue.

Don S and Maclin. Thank you so much for the help and responsivness on my issue. I know its not completely solved but thankful for you help in targeting the issue.

Make sure the connector on the fuel pump itself is in good shape. They can be a problem at times, and if you pulled the relay, you bumped the connector.

Fired the engine up this morning no issues. Let it run for a while and it did well. Turned it off and started it back up with no issues. Am going to change out the fuel water separator today as well as grab a few relays.

Quick question before I end this thread, do any of you know what this wire is for? If is unhooked behind the helm and goes all the way back to the engine in to the main connector it looks like. Thanks

No, but it does mean it's not running. Now we get to find out why it's not running.

Remove the fuel pump relay.
With your meter, find a good clean ground for your black test lead, and with the red, check terminal 30 in the pic below.
You should show battery voltage, if you do, put the black test lead on terminal 86 with red still on 30. Should still show battery voltage.
If those are ok, make a short jumper wire with a 10A fuse in it, and male spade terminals on each end. Then jump between terminals 30 and 87. The pump should run. If not, check the fuse. If it blew, remove the electrical connector from the pump, replace your fuse and

Don, on this step "You should show battery voltage, if you do, put the black test lead on terminal 86 with red still on 30. Should still show battery voltage." What if there is no voltage? Where is the problem I'm stumped ... I have the same issue pump won't run. Pump itself checks out/runs
