LOL,.... Scott is correct, but there are some options but NOT from the dealer.... Volvo;s are AMAZING bullet proof drives..... Best mechanically in my opinion.... They, meaning Volvo Penta had some F'UPS... This drive was one of them.... The drive will mechanically not fail but the "ACCESSORIES" will ... If I am putting the wording correctly...
ANYWAYS... When the accessories fail it leads to mechanical failure..
Had a customer who kept picking my brain, very smart fellow, on this particular drive, and it's characteristics, he knew more than me... What he did was buy used drives cheap, so he had spare part all over the place...
In turn... I tried to pick his brain to see if the 2 of us combined could overcome the bellow issue.
One thing that drives me NUTS about Volvo.... Have a good thing going... Bullet Proof series of drives... They tweak to make it even more bullet proof.... Then they say.. Hey, we are "Rock Stars", let change proven and time tested engineering...
Nothing against Mercruiser... Simple Alphas are fine... They FINALLY after a decade plus admitted to corrosion issues on the B3 drive... But they ARE NOT Volvo drive... But with that said... Once they have the issues solved.. They do not change it..
NOTE: Do not let that last statement lead you to believe that I would choose a Mercruiser over a Volvo... With that said, both are fine choices, but my preference is Volvo Penta.
