I have a 2004 Volvo Penta 4.3GXi- I have changed the impeller, O-ring, and sealing ring, Since then upon trying it out- water has been coming from a 3inch round by 2 inch deep wheel that sits in front of the pulley. Not sure if it is connected to the pulley or not. There is a 3/4" by 1/4" slot on this wheel that is cut into this wheel that sits in front of the pulley-that is where the water squirts out of. I cannot figure out what to do. Also getting what sounds like a little bearing noise fromthe area.

Any Idea's what process I must do to remedy the problem?

Thanks
Jack

Re: Volvo Trouble

That is called the raw water pump, that is the pump that supplies water to your engine for any kind of cooling.
If you replaced the oring (#4) and it's still in good shape and in the correct position, then you need a new pump.
That slot is a wear indicator.
