Hello All : Ready to put my new 4.3 Vortec engine back in my Cobalt. Will need to set the Distibutor and Timing. I have tried everywhere including my local Volvo dealer to buy one. They would rent it for twenty bucks but would not sell one. Also tried Iboats. Any tips would be appreciated. Also thanks to Bondo, there was something wrong with my flywheel fit. The engine company is sending the right one. If anyone has a drawing for me to make a timing shunt, I would like to try this. I guess worse case I drive 60 miles and rent one then take it back. Dave R.

P.S. The distributor is from a 1996 Volvo ( A delco voyager )

Thanks Don,
I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get the EST into base mode. The instructions were wrong.

go to any auto wrecking yard.
locate a junk GM vehicle with EFI and the EST ign system.
locate the 4 pin connector that plugs into the passenger side of the distributor module.
cut it off leaving 4 or 5 inches or wire.
now with this connector in your hand and the female plugs away from you, tie the two far right wires together, the far left wire cut off flush with the connector, and the remaining wire will be your B+ wire.
cant belive they would not sell it, we will.
