I have a 8.1 GXi with a duoprop drive. Boat is less than 3 years old and has 80 hours on it. During last season, and while still under warranty, the drive developed the typical signs of a bad gimbal bearing (vibration, especially while turning). Dealership found a bad bellows (apparently a known problem with V-Ps?) and replaced the gimbal bearing as well as the bellows last August.

The drive has now developed a vibration when in gear. It is especially severe around 2100-2600 rpm, but is noticable at lower RPMs as well. Not as noticable at higher RPMs when on plane. It started small a couple of months ago and is getting progressively worse over time.

Never any groundings or other propeller strikes. Feels like it's a balance problems with one of the drive components (u-joints?).

Any opinions from the experts? Thanks.
