Volvo Penta SX Pivot Housing

I have a 2000 Volvo Penta 5.0 with SX-M drive. I stripped out one of the pivot housing threads removing it. Is there a fix for this or do I have to
replace the housing?

You can fix it with a Helie coil tread inserts . You can pick up a kit at your local auto parts store . jest take your bolt with you.

Thanks, I was thinking helicoil. Does it or should it be stainless steel?
Do they make helicoils in stainless?

Yes you can get them in stainless

All helicoils thread inserts are stainless.
