I have a '94 four Winns with twin 302 / SX-M outdrives.
Last year I noticed a whining noise from the Port engine. It was very noticeable while cruising at low/idle speed.
I removed the drive and found water inside the bellow. The gimbal bearing was rusty and replaced. I also noticed water in the gear oil. Bellow was replaced.
I replaced the drive and still have the noise. My question is if this could be the u-joints, or should I look elsewhere. Could the water intrusion have been from water entering at the yoke? Should I replace the u-joints, replace the drive and check for more water intrusion, or dig deeper? Thanks
