volvo penta sx cobra drive. change rotation?

hi, is it possible to change the the prop rotation on my drive. If so would there be any disadvantages to using a counter rotating prop. Btw. 1998 larson 206 lxi 5.0l volo penta /sx cobra drive. Thanks

Yes, you can change the drive rotation on the SX Cobra drive. Take off the plastic cover, on the upper gear housing, and move the vertical metal rod to the opposite side. This will change the rotation. (works like older Volvos)

If there are any disadvantages, when using a propeller that goes the other way around, I don't know.

Move the shift cable to the oppisite lever on the helm control.I don't think there is a performance difference between a cw and a ccw prop.
