Re: Volvo Penta DP stuck fwd prop

DonS<br /> sometimes in our fairly temperate salt waters the boats only come out once per year for maint then back over. there are many 28-33 ft boats with no trailers and wet slips. even the nickel antiseize is not enough sometimes. coupled with the fact that many of the owners like the do it your self maint. which means if it aint broke dont touch it other than a yearly engine oil change.then when it all corrodes away they whine about the expense. I even have had some brag about the anodes have lasted two years I gave up trying to explain that if they lasted 2 years underwater then they are not anodes but just another part along for the ride. and no one will sand a zinc before a launch. if that anode is all white and scaly its not working.

Cutting the prop off was a success, everything worked out well with not damage to the prop shaft itself or the seals, or at least that is what the boat mech told me that came over to help out, we will see, it seems to to right out of the water with the hose hooked up, i will find out tommorow if the props i got are spun or not, i am hopping for not, thanks for the help.
