Volvo Penta 5.0FL spark plug change..........

Cannot get to the plugs because of the manifolds. Is a thin wall 5/8's the answer and where is a good place to get one? Any other ideas how to get them out?

Volvo has (if they still sell it) a universal socket with a cut down section. But they are expensive.



I just used a cut down socket that I made for other engines just a standard spark plug socket and a grinder is all that's needed.

O'Reilly Auto Parts sells a T-handled spark plug wrench that works. Its cheap, by that I mean in price and also in quality. If the plug is in tight, the T-handle part will break off from the extension. Grinding down a socket would be your best bet.
