volvo outdrive 270

how does the hydraulic pump come off the volvos on the early 70's model. its a 270. looks as if its a direct drive off the output shaft. ive got it to turn abut dont want to pry on it it as its still good. removing the drive and engine from a junk boat.

I'm assuming you don't have a 270T, and what you are calling a hydraulic pump is actually the electro Mechanical lift pictured below.
All it does is tilts the unit up with a jackscrew type setup inside, no trim.
There is usually 2 bolts on the flange that holds it into the transom sheild, once they are removed it should lift out. Sometimes it may take some persuasion (Heat & careful prying)

so it just pushes the drive up? its not conneced to anything that sounds to easy?!?
