volvo outdrive 1:79 to 1:66

my original outdrive on my volvo 4.3 gl is a 1:79 but its broken, what if i put a 1:66 on? would it work?

The 1.66 is for a V8, you won't get the rpm or performance. Get the right gear ratio ................ NO, just changing the prop will not do it. If it would Volvo wouldn't have all the different gear ratio's.
