Hi folks,
A friend of ours has a Seaswirl WA 2100 Striper with a Volvo motor that will not start. At first the motor would barely turn over so we switched to battery 2 and as it cranks it over a metal clang sound would stop the engine. The sound seemed to come from the rear of the engine. The engine would not crank very easily on the next attempt almost appearing seized, but it did finally go again. After two attempts and hearing that clang sound we stopped cranking it over.
Here is what we will attempt today. Remove plugs and crank it over and see if the clang goes away. We suspect the timing may be off as the engine has become harder to start for the past couple of weeks.
Does anyone know if this has a timing belt or a timing chain?
Any other suggestions welcome.
Thanks!
