I have a 2000 Four Wins 328 Vista.
Twin volvo 5.7 Gsi PEFS with DP-SM drives
Engine Number 3869059
Fuel Injected Throttle Body.
I bought the boat aftrer it sat on blocks for 6 years in storage.
Had 160 gals of gas on board.
drained 1 tank complete, refilled with fresh fuel.
removed both TBI units, new injectors, and rebuild kits in both.
replaced both fuel pump assemblies (the integrated high/low/tank style)
It ran great for about 4 hours for delivery local, and a few short trips.
Now the port engine starts and runs great.
Idles great.
Runs up to 2200 RPMS great.
Upon accelerating to crusie now does the following.
1. Push throttles forward.
2 Both engines pull great until port reaches about 2200 RPM,
3. Starboard continues fine.
4. Port starts to stuter (like running lean.. sounded like it did on a bad fuel pump)
5. RPM starts to drop, until it reads zero on tach.
6. If I throttle back, it keeps running at idle, and feals great.
7. Tested fuel pump, all good pressures, and new filter.
On last test I got it to pass the stutter.
If i play with the port throttle durring the stutter, pumping it, it will run through the stutter slowly building rpms.
once cruise of 3200 reached, will run great for long haul. so it is just an accelerating issue. Ran it up to a cruise at 4200 RPM, still ran strong! Not starving for fuel once running good.
Could it be map sensor, or a throttle position sensor?
Feals like it is going lean, but by pumping the throttle it goes throught it.
Next time at the boat, I am going to swap TBI units and re test.
Any ideas guys?
Dan
