So, I'm well aware that the Volvo 270-290's outdrives can handle 300HP, however, I'm unable to figure out whether the exhaust system is big enough to support that much HP. Can anyone shed any light on this? I'm trying to establish whether I'll need to go with a through hull exhaust setup for my twin 351w's or upgrade my drives (at least the parts that matter) to a 280 or 290.
From what I've seen so far, I'll need at least 6.5 Sq. inches of exhaust, which is 3" diameter Y pipe. (per engine)
