It costs less than a dollar to make the rectifiers.
Greedy, profit crazy people are raising the prices to hundreds of dollars.
Our simple rectifiers can be from cheaper companies.

I will not put that cheap Chinesem stuff on my customers units. If a DIY wants to use it be aware that it may look the same but, usually they use sub quality parts. Also it may damage other components or cause a fire if it fails but its your engine.

interesting observation given that most the components are made in China or Taiwan to begin with.

Must keep special stock of “quality parts” they ship for OEM parts manufacturers….lol

My boating friends & shops KNOW all our stuff is NON American made. All American cars use parts from around the world.
China builds to whatever quality a cheap American company wants to pay for the part.

Taiwan electronics are actually the best and have been used in everything in USA and world since the 70's. They are the biggest chip maker in the world , that why China wants to take them over. You can use a cheap diode or good diode, thin or thick circuit board, etc and this will effect price ..oh and good luck on any warranty on the China/Amazon parts. There is a difference in aftermarket and knock off products. I am a Serria dealer and use their parts regularly for several reasons. 1) they work out of the box. 2) most parts have a useful life warranty and they will replace part/s an pay me if it fails 3) they will pay if parts cause additional damages . 4) part has to be installed by dealer/installer not a DIY. Your engine pistons are made overseas guess where? Taiwan! Art piston supplies and makes pistons for: Yamaha, Suzuki, Yanmar, Ford, Mitsubishi and Toyota is just a few. Also it is the WSM supplier which is best cast piston on the market. If ya want to use it go for it but I wont! Have to good a reputation to screw it up by trying to save a buck

CDI electronics, Sierra and GLM make aftermarket parts that are pretty good. They are about 1/2 the price of OEM, and they still make some parts that are out of OEM production or at least the OEM version is in short supply.
