Hey all,

Looking for input here. Last time I went out on the boat I noticed the voltmeter gauge is all the way to the right (way past the 18 v mark)...it doesnt move at all, regardless if the engine is on or off....

I'm going to troubleshoot it next time I go to the boat storage but I was wondering if I should buy a new gauge based on the symptoms.

The gauge is question is the classic Sierra Eclipse series. Sorry about the picture quality, it's a snippet from a video I recorded that day.

If I remember correctly, the needle was always resting on the left stud with the engine off (exactly like the second picture); I have never seen it like this before.

Voltage is fine (~12.7). Measured at the battery and by my Garmin chartplotter.

Any idea?Screenshot_20230801_230744_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20230801_231552_Gallery.jpg

With ignition switch off, there should be nothing going to the gauge. That being said, if it's pegged with power off, gauge is probably kaput

It would appear the spring that pushes the needle to the left snapped, allowing the needle to swing freely...I haven't seen it moving, maybe it got stuck at the bottom of the gauge. I'm guessing there is no way to repair these gauges.
