Hi all. I have a problem. My boat is in israel. Four winns 2013 vista 275. Starts running a bit heavily then temperature rises up the limit boat starts warning and immediately engine goes down low speed and Engine starts to sputter Engine goes up and down low speed. When you turn it off and the engine cools down again, drive until it warms up and start again. Impeller in good condition. Anyone knows what's the problem please?

Welcome aboard:

Impeller is in good shape, but have you confirmed you're getting water flow up in the engine? (perhaps there's a blockage) Also, have you checked the thermostat?

what motor & drive?

if your motor temp is going up, you have bad water flow period.

so either your raw water impeller is bad, or you have an issue with the cooling system drawing in air, or other issues.

Hi Scott. It's a Mercury 350. The problem is that when boat sailing at low speed it's cooling off. My mechanic is thinking it's blocked exhaust

Hi Scott. Thanks for answering. Engine Mercury 350hp. When Engine goes to low speed temperature cooling. My mechanic is thinking it might be that exhausts are blocked and need replacing. It's a huge coast here and I need to be sure. Do you know the symptoms of exhaust problem?

The exhaust elbows will be getting hotter than normal because the cooling passages inside are blocked with rust. It’s one of the costs of boating every 5-7 years in salt water you have to replace at least the elbows if not both the elbows & manifolds.

If you can get Barr Marine aftermarket exhaust where you are they are good quality & a good deal cheaper than Mercury OEM. But first the mechanic must remove the elbows to verify that the exhaust is actually the problem.
