Visited Lake Mead!

For those of you on here that live in Nevada and are able to boat on Lake Mead I have to say I am jealous. That has to be the most beautiful lake I have ever seen.

Was in Vegas at the end of May this year and rented a car to see the damn dam with the wife. On the way back stopped at Lake Mead to stick our feet in- -warm water. It's beautiful there but I'm byassed and go for the Finger Lakes here in central NY. I would like a go at a 106 mile lake though. Also, noticed a lot of law on the lake.

Funny you mentioned that. We drove to Kanab Utah and was going to head over and look at Powell however we ran out of time and wanted to get back to Vegas before dark so we skip going there.

Lake Mead is pretty, but more and more of it disappears every year. The docks/marinas I saw when I did the damn dam tour two years ago were almost sitting on the ground. Pretty water though.

Just makes for new beaches, coves, islands, reefs. Like a new version of the same lake every time I go . . .

I know you have said it before, but it really is true.
even at the level now there is still a lot of lake to play on and see.

that is one thing jill and i look forward to. you get to see a lot of stuff now you wouldn't have before the levels dropped

Yeah, I don't mean to harp on it, but Mead and Powell at 100 ft. down are a lot different than most Lakes down 100 ft . . . Maybe I should shut my trap and let the lakes thin out. I guess I kind of see it like the Oil Spill. A lot of people make their living at the Lake and boaters should be encouraged to visit especially if the lake level concerns should not keep them away.

As Lake Mead lowers, side scan sonar looks better and better. Lots of cool stuff on the bottom.

I like it when people say they dont like the lake with the low levels. its great. Same thing as when people say echo bay is to far or not nice enough......yep, thats right. it is. go somewhere else and leave my hidden paradise alone haha

btw we are going to echo on the 24th i believe...cant wait!

Thanks! I have to say if there were more industry out there I would make the move in a minute. I am just unable to find any jobs in my field out that way.
