viscount engine options and screen

Hi,
Ive bought a winner viscount with a seized engine and stern drive so am looking to replaice both. As i am changing both i am not sure if i go for performance or economy, I'm in the uk and petrol is ?5.61 or $8.87 per gallon. could anyone who owns one let me know what you have in it, approx gal/hr and approx performance. it has two blanked exhaust holes in the transom was this an original option? so must have had a v at some point, the seized engine is a 3.0 merc. also does anyone know a company that can make an economical windscreen? Think the uk companies must make them out of gold!!

Hi Mikey,
I have just joined the site, ( so much info, it's a great find ! ) I have just bought a winner viscount 21 and am in the process of gutting it, replacing some rotten flooring, total internal refit and changing from inboard to o/b. would be really interested to know if you managed to source a new screen,

Thanks for the reply, I've drawn a blank with the screen so am having one made. Have been working on this for 18 months now and its starting to look good now. Hows yours shaping up? Not seen many people posting about these in the uk so not sure how many there are. I've gone down the american muscle route with mine, against all advise!
