Vintage Ship N Shore Air Horn Restoration

I recently purchased and in the process of restoring a 1955 Crestliner Viking Deluxe. Currently working on the air horn. It works (meaning I put air to it and it sounds off loud); however, I'm not sure all the internal pieces are installed. The hollow "needle" part is loose inside (installed backward?) - doesn't seem correct. Does anyone have experience with these?

Ah, restoring a vintage Ship-N-Shore air horn sounds like a fun project! There's something special about bringing old treasures back to life. Reminds me of when I found a beat-up guitar at a garage sale and spent hours sanding, painting, and polishing it until it looked brand new.
