These are lovely things. If it helps you any…it’s actually a Yamaha engine you have there. Will be mid 80’s I’d say.
If she has compression, she will absolutely run and do so for longer than you might do

I have an array of old Yamaha engines in the garage from this era and around about either way.
I know for a fact that I could take one of them out just now after sitting for years. Fresh fuel in her…and it will absolutely start within a hand full of pulls. Or less usually. They usually have a trademark starting behaviour.
After sitting for a while
You could get some oil down the plug hole if she has been sitting dry for ages.
Get rid of any old fuel out tank and carb bowl, at the drain.
Choke on..throttle open (after making sure there is fuel to the bowl by means of flushing at the bowl drain)
Throttle open at least half way (ignore the start position indicated on throttle) or more
Pull her over until she coughs. Once more until she attempts a start.
Choke off
Throttle open
Pull her over. She might start up there.
If she doesn’t. Choke on and try until she runs, then fairly quickly get the choke off. They won’t run for too long with it on.
If she good. Get the impeller and gear oil changed asap.
Then enjoy for decades to come. One of the best small engines ever made.
Definitely a Yamaha engine, as mentioned. The best news of all. They were all good around then. Mercury, Yamaha and Suzuki etc etc. but these were a league apart. Worth plenty money here at least. One like that would easily fetch about £500 easily.
